Critique the Critic-Premonition
The movie I chose was premontition. It was one that I have recently seen and i had a pretty strong opinion about it. I did not like the movie at all really...the only good thing that i did like about the movie was that it was kind of weird and trippy, but that only lasted less than the first half of the movie because then it just started to get old. I thought the movie was very repetitive and slow. I found a film review about this movie that matched my opinions. I went to rottentomatoes.com and there was not a single "tomato" indicating that someone did in fact, enjoy this movie. There was not a single positive review. The one I chose seemed to agree with my opinion the best. In the review, the critic, Kim Voynar, states that this movie is an "incredible mess from start to finish" and that "it's practically impossible for the audience to sustain the necessary suspension of disbeleif for so long". I agree with those statements completely. I think the movie was put together poorly and that the movie was so totally unrealistic and that it got boring to watch the same amount of un-realisticness happening throughout the whole film. The critic also explains that as the movie goes on and the un-realistic events keep occurring, they just start to get 'laughable' because they keep happening and happening. I also agree with that. The critic also discusses scenes and how they look. She talks about how the director Mannen Yapo tries to "gain some sense of order over the mess by establishing a hazy, artsy look for scenes that are from the past and tosses in a couple of red herrings to up the ante, but ultimately nothing can save the film from such a poorly constructed script." I don't think that the director trying to make special effects save the movie was right. I agree with the critic once again, when she says that nothing really can save this movie. In the review, it says that the premise was interesting enough, but only if it was put into the right hands. I don't think the director did a successful job on this movie. In my opinion, I think the trailor made it look much more interesting, which is why I decided to see it. But once I started watching the movie, after the forst 20 minutes, I was almost bored, the movie was pretty predictable and I just thought that it was so un realistic and it was almost funny, as stated in the review. I feel like I'm being somewhat harsh but I do think the movie deserves the reviews it got. I think it could've been better, but for what it is, I think it was a bad movie and I don't think people should see it. Even if the trailer makes it look super interesting, don't let it fool you. I agree with everything this review says. Premonition definetely bombed.

clueless continued....
I chose a clip from the movie clueless. It is definetely one of my all time favorite movies. In the clip i chose there are many elements that we discussed such as different types of camera angle and lighting and speed of motion. This isn't a clip from a scene, because i couldn't find one, but it is a mixture of many scenes from the movie and i found some different elements in the mix i found. There are many types of camera angles. In this scene there is a long shot, from almost a birds eye when they are driving in the car and also there is the long shot. it is at the same height as the characters and you see some of the surroundings. There is also some speed of motion. The shot at some points is moving very fastly while they are driving and feel like you are driving with them because the shot moves fastly. THe last element that i noticed in this clip is the lighting. They are outside going down a street with trees and going in and out of shadows. I am pretty sure this is an example of lowkey lighting because nothing is super bright and it shows shadows.

Crash is my favorite movie!
Crash is one of my all time favorite movies. I love it because it has so many great actors. Each actor is so different and each actor deals with such different and interesting issues. I like it because it is made up of many little stories that all come together in the end. At the end of the film they figure out all their stories are connected and they have more in common than they really think. Most of the reviews from metacritic say a lot of similar things. it is a "stunning, must see drama" and they say it is one of the best hollywood movies to be created. The reviews talk very highly of all the acting and that the events are all so unexcpected which makes the movie so great and amazing to watch. Another reason I love it is because i can watch it more than once, it is a movie that doesn't really seem to get old and it is just as interesting everytime i watch it. That is why it is one of my favorite movies.
